ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION

Cultura is the official student and home organization of the Department of Literature. Often dubbed as the "book club," this organization is where literature majors and book lovers come together to further appreciate the art of storytelling. The organization also aims to gear students into further valuing the culture and arts, especially in literature and cultural studies, and their indispensability from other fields. We to go beyond learning within the borders of the University and understand how much the world can become more aware through the field of creative writing --as in essence, we believe literature is meant to touch hearts and uplift various communities.

Mission

Cultura aims to raise awareness that is conscious of valuing culture and the arts, especially literature and cultural studies and their indispensability from other fields. The organization intends to maintain the quality in its provisions for educating its members to become responsible audiences and to preserve the good relationship of the Department of Literature and its majors through academic assistance and extracurricular activities. Cultura also aims to go beyond the borders of the University and reach out to different cultures\ in different communities, establishing LaSallian excellence in literature, cultural studies, and the arts.

Vision

As an organization led by the love for literature, culture and the arts, its resolve lies in community building. Cultura works toward spreading ideas that open people to many cultures and cultural practices that define simple and complex human experiences. Cultura aims to create a sense of belongingness among individuals of varying backgrounds and stories, all unified by the same love for books.
